Alive

Pushing off the sandy bottom
headfirst breaking through
the glistening wall of glass,
body following;
world muted
crisp refreshing water
enveloping my soul
I am alive.
Eyes closed
hair swept back
body gliding
smoothly, gently uplifted
by the swell
Shooting me out the backside.
suspended
burning salt blinding
surge rolling by -
legs drifting downward
stretching
pointed toes searching
settling into the gritty sand.
