Wild Mind by Natalie Goldberg is an excellent book for writers with a range of ability.  Each chapter presents anecdotes that relate to writing.  Natalie Goldberg presents writing in terms of life.  The subtitle of Wild Mind is Living the Writer's Life.  She discusses several different approaches to using your experiences to enhance your writing.  I enjoyed her simple observations and how she applies those observations and experiences into practical uses.  Goldberg addresses the common issues such as writer's block, finding time, getting ideas, and becoming a confident writer (although I think this is a roller coaster ride for most writers).

Several chapters offered mini lessons called "Try This."    In these sections Goldberg gives "assignments" for writing.  I did many of them and found they enabled me to just write and not focus of revising as I write, which is a common challenge for me.  She also offered suggestions for writing topics to help get the writer started.  Wild Mind is a book I plan to purchase for my own writing library.  It  will be a book I return to over and over again.
