Technology Teaching Consultants PDF Print E-mail

The talented Technology Teacher Consultants (Tech TC’s) of the Oregon Writing Project are highly skilled in distance and face to face presentations. These articulate and creative alumnae of the Writing Project plan and execute workshops designed to help teachers improve their skills in using technology to enhance reading and writing. When teachers get together to share their knowledge and skills, magic happens. When our Tech TC’s are in the mix, 3-D magic happens.

The quality of our Tech TC Cadre and the reputation of the group are increasing. Individual Tech TC’s have invited our other Tech TC’s to present in their districts; professional organizations have invited our Tech TC’s to present; and, of course, our OWP/UO site is increasingly able to support Tech TC’s in professional development efforts in schools around the state.

This is my eighth year of teaching at McKenzie School District. For the last six years, I've been teaching middle school; writing, health and technology. I'm an alumna, since 2002, and a liaison of the Oregon Writing Project. I'm also a proud Tech TC of CATE (Center of Advanced Technology in Education). Finding new and refreshing ways to integrate technology into my writing curriculum is both a challenge and a passion of mine. Whether with few or with many computers, I can find a way to enhance a writing component with technology. Poetry, persuasive writing, narratives, imaginative, and expository writing can all be expressed with technology tools. I'd love to help you with integrating technology into your own classroom!

Angie Bunday is a fifth grade teacher at Corridor Elementary in Eugene 4J. With her master's degree from the University of Oregon (GO DUCKS!) and an emphasis in Instructional Technology, she learned in depth about the importance of technology infusion in classrooms. She is now an avid technology advocate for education and works to support her professional peers and students on how to teach and learn with technology, teaching technology classes for CATE and Eugene 4J. Her strengths lie in the use of SMART Boards, document cameras, laptops/computers, and other hardware tools, as well as with digital tools on the Internet, creating digital lessons and online classroom resources (blogs, websites, wikis, etc.). She is open for idea sharing, support, and professional development for small and large groups. Angie also is a grant writing resource and knows many ways to find funds for technology and classroom resources.

Always on the lookout for new hooks for young writers, I am a middle school language arts teacher in Lebanon, Oregon. My primary focus is using modern media, such as wikis, podcasts, digital stories, photography, and videography, to support student creativity for the purpose of creation and publication. I am currently experimenting with handheld devices such as the iTouch and the common cell phone.
